So, here's a cheat sheet with five key tips on how to maintain a loving and healthy relationship with your INFP!
1/Actively respect your INFP
Frequently ask them for their thoughts and opinions on various subjects. This will let your INFP know you value and respect their perspective. You'll also want to avoid mocking their idealistic nature and way of thinking.
2/Be patient as your INFP attempts to verbalize their feelings
Many INFPs are better at writing than speaking. So, when it comes to voicing their feelings, these INFPs may find it incredibly challenging to find the words to express what they're feeling. This means you'll need to be patient and give them time to figure out how to say what they're feeling.
3/Always be honest with your INFP
INFPs, when not blinded by love or infatuation, are great at spotting liars. So, don't risk your relationship by lying!
4/Take up for your INFP in public
Unfortunately, many INFPs and their non-mainstream ideas are made fun of in public. One of the best ways to show your love for your INFP is to support them and defend them when other people make fun of them. If you remain silent when your beloved INFP is being mocked by 'friends,' the INFP will feel unsupported and hurt.
5/ Give your INFP space as needed
Notice when your INFP is engrossed in a creative hobby for hours on end, and instead of chastising them for not paying enough attention to you, let your little weirdo have their space. Eventually, they'll come back to you. INFPs typically need more space than the average person. They use these "turtle mode" times to recharge their introvert-based batteries or to temporarily immerse themselves in creative projects.
